Leverage new opportunities
Let me welcome all your participants to the 2011 installation of the Montego Bay Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MBCCI) Annual Trade Show. This year's theme 'Expo 2011 - Unleashing Innovations' tells it all. As the global economic spheres become increasingly dynamic and competitive, and as consumer and business trends adopt and adapt to remain profitable, innovations become the cornerstone of our corporate strategies. So crucial is this quality that some have simply conceded - 'Innovate or die'. While others may say it is not quite that stark, a scan of the horizon confirms that the most profitable and successful businesses are those who continuously seek out new strategies to improve efficiencies and to remain relevant to increasingly discriminating consumers.
This applies across the entire supply and demand chain as businesses are consumers too. Accordingly, they are becoming more thorough in their own searches for goods, services and the raw materials they require for their own venture. Such is the natural flow of things these days and while it carries some amount of anxieties it also throws up tremendous opportunities for the most discerning and innovative entrepreneurs and companies.
Against this backdrop, this year's exposition, so well accommodated in the new Montego Bay Convention Centre, pushes the bar even higher. It provides a real-time opportunity for us to assess the new realities and emerging challenges, even as it allows us to determine how we will leverage new opportunities and new facilities. The presence of your visiting exhibitors and participants from across the region attests to the prominent place in which the MBCCI Trade Show is held as a brand within Brand Jamaica.
I wish all of you every success as together we innovate, innovate and innovate!
