It is always such a pleasure to greet the players in our important tourism industry. It is even more a delightful occasion as I congratulate Half Moon, A RockResort on its milestone achievement of 60 years of word-class hospitality.
Anniversaries are opportune occasions for reflection, renewal and celebration, and I am confident that the organisation will use this golden jubilee occasion to create an electrifying atmosphere full of inspiration and visioning.
Established in 1954 with the vision of 'creating an oasis of relaxed gentility', Half Moon has undergone significant changes and tremendous growth which has propelled it to be among the best in the industry both locally and regionally. I must commend the resort for its top-quality service and environmental efforts which have been recognised through yearly accolades and awards. These and other efforts have placed you in an excellent position to further maximise your potential in this important and competitive industry.
It is important that the Government, along with key players in the tourism industry such as yourself, devote every ounce of energy to making sure that the industry continues to enjoy viability and future success. I am pleased that your organisation has shown its dedication to this commitment, and I commend you on your many contributions which have assisted in the growth of the tourism industry.
In extending my best wishes for a successful anniversary celebration, I also congratulate you on the 50th anniversary of your award-winning golf course, ideal for avid and casual golfers alike.
